Situated right across Moscrop Secondary School, what grabs you right away is just how packed the restaurant is. A lot of that can probably be attributed to the high school students and family members who don’t feel like cooking at home and just want to have a hearty meal close-by. With that being said, the food itself wasn’t slacking by any means. Choosing from a wide range of selections actually proved to be a simple task with our hungry stomachs.
Strolling into Fatburger, the first thing that comes to mind is Vera's Burger Shack. Same open kitchen concept, same kind of vibe and atmosphere. Taking a good look at the menu, I couldn't help but compare it to Vera's. It really is a rivalry. Fatburger is definitely not your typical fast food restaurants, a combo with a specialty burger goes for around $16. That's the equivalent of seven Junior Chicken Sandwiches from McDonald's!
Lunch special. Seems like almost every Chinese restaurant in Vancouver knows these two words. It's like they all went into a marketing meeting and came up with the idea that the best form of retaining customers and reaching out to new ones is to offer a lunch special menu. Not just one item, but a huge variety of items.
Location is important, and Sekai Udon Bar is probably the only viable options for sushi or casual Japanese cuisine within Metropolis. Unless your in love with supermarket or food court level sushi, the only other choice is to leave the warmth of the mall (Yes I know there are options around Metrotown, but those aren't inside the mall). I've been here a few times, tried the made in-house udon. I'm not a big fan of udon, so coming back here I decided to order one of their sushi combos.
